With the death of American businessman Phil Bachman, his collection of more than 40 Ferraris of extremely rare editions will be auctioned in January next year.

Bachman passed away in August 2025 at the age of 88, leaving behind 46 Ferraris that will be auctioned by his family in January 2026 in Kissimmee, Florida (USA), by the auction house Mecum.

Bachman’s collection includes models such as the 365 GTB, Testarossa, 360 Challenge Stradale, 575M Superamerica, and Dino, as well as extremely rare models like two of the 60 units produced of the 1992 Ferrari F40 and one of the 55 units of the 1995 F50 sold in the USA.

Bachman also owned one of the 400 units of the 2003 Ferrari Enzo and the last American-spec LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta configurations, as well as a 2006 Ferrari FXX.

The latter is part of the brand’s FXX program, designed to test new technologies in laboratory cars and provide exclusive experiences for special clients. Bachman’s example is one of the 30 produced and is the only one in the series painted yellow.

In fact, the businessman seemed to have a particular fondness for yellow Ferraris, as most cars in his collection were this color. Some of the cars available at the auction, however, feature classic red, dark green, lead gray, and brown bodywork.

Beyond the Ferraris, the auction will also feature two Alfa Romeo 8C cars owned by the businessman, one in the Spider version and another in the Competizione version.

The minimum bid prices for each car have not yet been disclosed, but the auction is expected to raise millions.
